I've got my personal resolutions made... and I decided that a fitting first post for my business blog would be my business resolutions for the coming year :)
2007 brought a lot of changes to my business... my workspace moved at least 4 times, for one thing ;) My products changed as new ideas came to me, and they also got better as I figured out better ways of doing things and better fabric choices. I've finished all of my orders from 2007 and am shipping out the last couple of things later today (woo-hoo, I finished all my 2007 stuff, still in 2007!). I'm hoping 2008 will bring a lot more positive change for my business, so here are my resolutions to help me reach my goals:
#1- To re-vamp (or finish!) my website and open a HyenaCart store integrated with my main site.
#2- To seek out trades, offer deals, testers, samples, whatever- to get my name and products out to more people
#3- To re-vamp product designs and come up with good, permanent standard patterns for everything I make
#4- To contact the local inventor/entrepreneur whose information I was given, and pick her brain to learn everything I can (and maybe get my babywearing bag idea out of my head and made into a bag)
#5- To contact local B&M stores that might be interested in consigning and/or wholesaling some of my products
#6- To contact other local WAHM's who may be interested in splitting booth costs for a booth at this year's Rocky Mountain Sustainable Living Fair
#7- To keep up-to-date on all legalities and accounting stuff related to the business
#8- To actually keep this blog up-to-date with at least one posting a month (but hopefully more like 2 or 3), and to use it to get my ideas out of my head so that there is some accountability to actually get around to trying them ;)
#9- To work more of a "schedule", to treat my business like a job so that I accomplish more and therefore hopefully earn more from sales
#10- To remember why I'm doing this and enjoy spending time at home with Noah while creating great products for other families to use and love :)
